Employment and Training Services in Southwest Minnesota

The Southwest Minnesota Private Industry Council (PIC) is a private, nonprofit organization that provides employment and training services to residents and businesses across southwest Minnesota. With highly qualified, professional staff, the PIC has provided job training, assessments, and various employment services to thousands of residents and businesses across our fourteen-county service area for over 35 years.

Our 14-county area includes Big Stone, Chippewa, Cottonwood, Jackson, Lac qui Parle, Lincoln, Lyon, Murray, Nobles, Pipestone, Redwood, Rock, Swift, and Yellow Medicine.

Career Services for Adults

These programs are designed for adult job seekers and provide employment, education, skills training, and support services with the goal of obtaining quality employment.

Youth & Young Adults Career Services

Our young adult team provides youth between the ages of 14 and 24 with employment and training services. This includes individualized services, career exploration, and “real-life” work-based learning experiences.

Other Programs

We believe that prosperity occurs when communities and individuals genuinely engage with one another. Collaborative efforts such as the Summer Internship Program connected college students with local businesses for a paid internship where they gained professional experience and insight into what the local employers have to offer.
